08/25 - Remodel: Rustic Chic – Sheet Rock

With the current weather, I’ll be the first to admit these photos are a few days old.  Part of the charm of our Rustic Chic remodel is that the home feels as if it is remote, while only being 10 minutes from a very active suburban area.  They’ve been on the receiving end of over a foot of snow and most recently quite a few downed trees, due to the ice.

On the inside, however, things are getting cozy.  Below you’ll see that the fireplace surround is taking shape.  It’ll be sheathed in stone veneer.  And although it’s not obvious from the photos, the framing details are of reclaimed lumber.  Trestlewood ships out pieces of different looks and sizes, allowing these homeowners to get that rustic charm they want in a fairly straightforward manner.

The master bedroom now makes the most of the Tiger Mountain views that the property provides.  Accolades to the architect for getting the planning just right.  Between the Pella sliding glass doors and skylights overhead, the master bedroom is bright and inviting.

The last image is the skylights in the laundry room.  If every laundry room had this kind of appeal, it might just be a less tedious chore.

Otherwise, the heat is running and the drywall has been installed and is drying up nicely for work to continue when the roads clear and we’re going full force again.
