Redmond Addition – Buttoned Up and Finishing Up

What’s a couple of weeks in the life of a project?  Usually a whole lot when we’re working together.

These photos were taken back on January 8th of our Redmond Residence Addition.  Last time you saw it, we were framed and sheathed, but the openings were still, well, open.  As of the 8th, we had the house sided and exterior buttoned up.  Painting will be weather dependent.

Inside, the utilities were all roughed in, walls insulated and walls sheetrocked, taped and textured.  You can start to see how the spaces work together and some of the improvements and space expansions in the attached.

The great room is greatly expanded to allow for more usable family congregating space.  With a couple of teenagers, more room was necessary!

Part of the wall at the stairs was opened up to provide a functioning landing rather than just circulation space at the top of the stairs.  An open rail will help the space feel less tunnel-like and more connected to the rest of the downstairs.

The existing master bath was kept in tact.  The master bedroom, while reconfigured does not have much more floor space.  The cathedral ceilings definitely give it more volume though.  And the extra space comes in the form of an additional bedroom suite (not pictured).

The finishing touches remain.  Millwork, carpet and trim out.  Stay tuned.
