How’s this for a little Friday fun? We had these photos taken a couple of months back with the intent of submitting the project for the Remodeling Excellence (REX) Awards. Now that the judging is complete (all those judges follow this blog, I’m sure!), I’m excited to share the images with you. We love how this project turned out. If you recall, it started something like this, http://lakevillehomes.com/remodel-rustic-chic-project-kick-off/. Now, the bedroom looks like this! The reclaimed wood really spoke to the home owner and worked for the aesthetic they wanted. The Lakeville team did an expert job putting the Trestlewood together in a way where it looks like it could be structural and detailing beyond the ceiling so that it was an integral part of the room’s aesthetic. Besides just being a room that feels great, there are a lot of new features in the space that contribute to it working well too. The stone fireplace with gas fireplace insert...

In this past issue I authored an article for them on how to hire a remodeling contractor. Really, it’s a handful of the questions we at Lakeville Homes hear most frequently, and generally it applies to every one of our...

The fasteners are practically invisible. Through those sliding wood doors, there is a magnificent view of Tiger Mountain, as seen over the parcel’s 20 acres. The fireplace is in...

With what is still widely recognized as a “down economy”, Lakeville Homes has decided to give back to the community that has given so much to us, this year. In lieu of...

Over the past few years, Congress has continued with a sales tax deduction offset. It is not a part of the tax code, so...

With the client at the forefront of our thoughts, we still need to navigate the sub-contractors, designers and jurisdiction. Sometimes there are disagreements, but we always...

Sheetrock is up, the walls are taped and textured. The hardwood floors have been installed. Because of acute allergies, this home is carpet-free....
